This has absolutely been the longest day of my life.

It's nine o'clock in the evening by the time we reach Professor Talbott’s front door, and my brain is numb from all the stuff I've learned in the last two hours. Why, just a month ago, I was sitting at home in Buffalo, bored to tears - I couldn't wait to get down here and start a new life. Now that I've got my wish, I almost envy the old me.

Almost.

As it turns out, the world goes a whole lot deeper than I ever imagined. I’ve learned that I'm not some freak, either. The hazy summer night is alive with excitement and danger as we make our way uptown.
